Berton House Writers’ Retreat

On the evening of Wednesday, November 28th we celebrated Pierre Berton and the writers, poets, playwrights, novelists, screenwriters, and non-fiction writers who have been writers-in-residence at the Berton House Writers’ Retreat.

The 5th Berton House Writers’ Retreat gala was held at the Bright Pearl Restaurant on Spadina Avenue and hosted by Vicki Gabereau. The theme for 2007 was 'the railroad'. And the evening was a wonderful success featuring fabulous entertainment -- Dinah Christie and Catherine McKinnon, Sandra Shamas, Jim Byrnes, and Paul Soles -- balloon prizes, a silent and live auction and an 8-course Chinese dinner with wine.
